In London for a meeting yesterday, I was bowled over by the christmas lights outside the Natural History Museum. Normally I am a bit of a christmas kill-joy, but this completely took me by storm.

Cables of white lights are wound round the trunks and main branches of what I remember as being the archetypal planting of London plane Trees.

I loved the relevance of it to the museum, the monocolour display, the sculptural nature of it, and the way that the lights make something which is so solid by day look so light and airy at night.
