Ok, so inside-outside as a concept is now a cliche. And obviously climates make this more or less possible depending on where you live. But, the vast improvements in the energy efficiency of glass mean that visually the gap between inside and outside continues to blur.

This design for a ‘self – contained cottage’ adjacent to the main house at Leaf House, Sydney,  Australia struck me as inspirational. Designed by Undercurrent Architects, I think it takes the words ‘self contained’ and ‘cottage’  just that step further!

Regard this  photo as an amuse – bouche for the project and check into the blog ‘A Daily Dose of Architecture’  (www.archidose.blogspot.com) for the 24th January 2010. This will give you the full works on how this looks from various angles. Sensational!
