After a long, slow, cold, dull and dismal Winter, a late Spring is in full swing.

It is a little like sitting on a Carribean beach and having delicious and intoxicating cocktails pressed into your hand at every conceivable opportunity.

Only they’re flowers and there’s no hangover!

Yes, I do need a holiday!

At the moment the Clematis montanas are universally exceptional.

I know you think they are rumbustuous and take space, but it can be done. This front garden is tiny.

You can after all  prune them back after flowering to the space you wish them to occupy.

Here on a north facing street front in Bristol it is the most beautiful sight in the road.

Why on earth would’nt we all have one?
