If you scroll down to the previous post you will suss out that we are on the hunt for the perfect containers for a special purpose.
And we were hoping to find them at Chelsea Flower Show 2010 which we visited today.
Well, we did not find!
But on the way home, walking through posh ( the o is long) Belgravia we came across:
As you can see from part of the shop name this is the eponymous emporium of Viscount Linley, the Queeen’s nephew:
Flanking the doorway they are the containers to end them all.
Both in their size and in their funky contents!
They won’t suit our purpose, but you will see why we could not resist showing you them.
Lots more to say about Chelsea 2010 tomorrow.
It was quite an experience!

I kicked myself for not taking photos of these on Tuesday, so I’m really pleased you did!

Yes they are fun aren’t they. Really larger than life and a nice jolt to the rather staid and ‘trad smart’ feeling of the area!
Thanks for commenting!

Oh! I went by on a bus before the planters appeared. I did notice the classy sign and posh facade. Had spent a week in London, then returned for a couple days, departing on Press Day. Have attended before but this year it was not to be.
Next time (if there is one!) I want to meet both Robert and Lesley!
Must plan ahead. Cheers,
Alice

Holy cow, dude!
Seriously, they are beautiful: lovely proportions and textures. Very bouquet-like.

Yes really good to see something like that out on the street. You could see people doing a double take, like they couldn’t quite believe their eyes.
Thanks for your comment.
